Mock Inspecting

Mock Inspecting

A comprehensive Mock Inspection will be led by our consultant who has 20 years’ service as a Registered Manager. We use a Mock Inspection format that is based on the 5 Key Lines Of Enquiry from which a report and recommended action plan will be submitted to the provider for their consideration.

Mock Inspections can be heathy and helpful as it allows for a provider to be evaluated by an external person who knows the impact of inspections and can give feedback objectively – free from internal work pressures. The process can help teams “rehearse” how it may feel within real CQC inspections and therefore give enhanced attention and support on those days when public ratings will be the result.

The Mock Inspection allows identification of areas that may benefit from improvement – a fresh perspective is often of great benefit to any provider. The process can help Registered Managers and care provider owners/directors get that additional insight that can often ensure that people are not overlooking dropping standards amidst the substantial work volumes that go into any registered care provision. This can greatly reduce the stress from sudden unannounced inspections. .

Our Mock Inspections may be conducted by one, or two, consultants, to replicate the process a formal inspection sometimes takes. With our mock inspections being fully documented, complete with recommended action plan, the provider will be able to keep and show this evidence to CQC as part of the providers own quality assurance process. Utilizing an external expert demonstrates a provider who has appropriate openness and not an insular ethos.
