Trend Analysis and Action Planning


Identifying patterns in data ca be key to continued improvement in care - whether this is about developing care planning, contributing to minimizing safeguarding risks, reviewing training effectiveness or tracking key areas of progress for a provider. Through reviewing documented evidence, trends can be identified which leads to developing recommendations and action plans. This contributes towards meaningful, evidence-influenced strategies and shows stakeholders how information feeds into the ongoing development practices. Examples of common trend analysis include:

  • Behaviour that Challenges (can form part of Positive Behaviour Support)
  • Safeguarding reports
  • Acident and Incident reports
  • Complaints
  • Performance/task monitoring
  • Training Needs Analysis can look at the provider, a team, and/or an individual to identify knowledge gaps and devise training strategy plans to evolve performance, competency, compliance and efficiency.
